United Kingdom, 23rd of June, 2016.
The Great British Country has spoken — We are no longer Europe.
So unfortunately, Europeans, you are no longer welcome. But attention! We still are a kind and inclusive country. Tonight, we will give one lucky European a chance to remain in Great Britain. Only the winner of tonight's contest will become... MISS BREXIT.

In this comedic satire that re-writes the conventions of musicals, plays and Miss Universe contests, five Europeans will compete for a chance to stay in the UK. But in doing so, they must fully assimilate into their British selves for the promise of a better future. What does it take to become a Brit, think like a Brit and live like a Brit?

Through their process of assimilation, our contestants will undertake challenges of unknown British magnitude, sing of their true tales of migration and ultimately find out what truly matters to them.

About the Artists

Maria Who? is an international theatre company presenting their debut production, MISS BREXIT. The show was initiated by co-directors Alejandro Postigo and Amaia Mugica, who share an interest in promoting cultural inclusivity and accessibility in UK theatre. This devised piece facilitated an environment for international artists to share and reflect upon their lived experiences as migrant actors. Through Miss Brexit, the company is driven to voice unheard migrant stories and to open spaces for social change.
