Celebrating our Executive Director, Lucy Knight

SSP in its building stages

Today we celebrate our Executive Director, Lucy Knight, who will be stepping down after 8 years at Streatham Space Project.

As one of the founding members of Streatham Space Project, Lucy has been essential to the creation and development of our venue. From the seed of an idea, to our opening in 2018, and now to the bustling neighbourhood arts venue that we are today, Lucy has worked tirelessly to grow SSP every step of the way.

Since opening in 2018, SSP has worked with 2000+ artists and provided them with over 2500 hours of free development space. We have welcomed 38,000+ audience members to 500+ live shows, 50% of which are locals that live within 3 miles of SSP. We have also opened our doors to thousands of local children and their families for our free-to-access Family Days, Neighbourhood Days and workshops.

All of these would not have been possible without Lucy's dedication to SSP. Within 5 years, she has fundraised over £500K for our charity, developed valuable organisational relationships with other charities and foundations, and brought her expertise in arts management to every aspect of our venue.

“Working with Lucy has been a dream. She’s brought so much enthusiasm, dedication and focus to Streatham Space Project, and it wouldn’t be the brilliant arts centre it is without her. It’s been such a privilege to learn from and work with her.”

“Working at Streatham Space Project has been such a privilege. I’ve been here since the very beginning (which is now nearly 8 years) and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved. I’m really looking forward to all of the exciting festivals and events the SSP Team have got planned for this year. I owe a huge thank you to our board of trustees and the staff team, both past and present. It’s been a pleasure to work with them and all of our wonderful artists and hirers who make this place what it is!”
